Apply through the current system

Indiana's housing agency opened Energy Assistance Program applications on October 1, 2026. The listed closing date is April 30, 2027. LITT has replaced EAPConnect for online applications. Paper and in-person applications are available through the local provider serving your county.

Who may qualify

Households at or below 60 percent of Indiana's median income may qualify, with income assessed using the most recent three months. Renters whose utilities are included in rent may also be eligible. The annual benefit generally goes to the utility company and covers only part of energy expenses. Approval depends on eligibility and available federal funding.

Prepare documents and act on shutoff notices

Gather income evidence, current utility statements and, where utilities are included in rent, lease or tenant-verification documents. Your provider may request more information. Use IHCDA's county lookup and official application link below. If disconnection is approaching, contact both the utility and your local provider immediately; keep paying bills while an application is considered.
