Sunday results, checked through Monday morning

Cal State LA ended the suspense in the CCAA men’s soccer race, while Washington University in St. Louis strengthened its postseason position by winning twice in one day. Charlotte also secured its place in the American Conference women’s soccer tournament. In field hockey, Providence and Molloy needed overtime formats to settle close games.

The results window runs from 12 a.m. through 11:59 p.m. Eastern on Sunday, October 25, 2026. Official announcements from that date were checked through 7 a.m. Eastern on Monday, October 26. Assessments are State & Nation analysis; they are not official rankings, awards or postseason decisions.

Men’s soccer: Cal State LA finishes the title job

Cal State LA beat Fresno Pacific 2–0 to claim the CCAA regular-season championship and the top seed in the conference tournament. Emil Kischka scored 6:14 into the match, and Franco De Luna made it 2–0 in the 68th minute from Geovanni Antuna’s assist. The Golden Eagles allowed no shot on goal and finished with a 13–4 advantage in total attempts.

Cal State LA remained unbeaten at 14–0–2. Its 9–0–2 conference mark produced 29 points. Clinching before Thursday’s regular-season finale at Cal State Dominguez Hills gives the Golden Eagles certainty about their tournament seed, but the finale still offers one more test before elimination play begins.

Women’s volleyball: WashU wins twice and takes the UAA’s second seed

No. 6 WashU swept Rochester 25–10, 25–11, 25–21, then defeated No. 5 Carnegie Mellon 25–19, 25–22, 22–25, 27–25. The two victories moved the Bears to 18–3 overall and 6–1 in the UAA and secured the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament.

Emma Quast led the Rochester match with 10 kills. Against Carnegie Mellon, Leah Oyewole had 19 kills, Emma McGough added 14 and Anya Mikhailenko recorded 47 assists and 11 digs. WashU’s second result carried the larger résumé value: it required four sets against a top-five opponent, and the Bears answered a third-set loss by prevailing in a fourth set that reached 27–25.

Women’s soccer: Charlotte books its American tournament place

Charlotte won 2–0 at UAB and secured a place in the American Conference tournament. Penelope Rich scored in the seventh minute, and Lucie Bertrand added the second goal in the 55th minute. Kathleen Ngulefac assisted both scores; Grace Keighley also assisted Bertrand’s goal. Goalkeeper Harlee Head made five saves for the shutout.

The win lifted Charlotte to 9–5–1 overall and 5–2–1 in conference play. It also moved the 49ers to 16 conference points and ahead of UAB for second place at the end of Sunday’s games. With two regular-season matches left, qualification is settled, while final positioning remains open.

Field hockey: two games require extra time

Providence defeated Fairfield 4–3 in overtime after Fairfield tied the game with 51 seconds left in regulation. Bo Martina scored at the 67-minute mark to end it, her second goal of the game. Florencia Talarico also scored twice for the Friars, who improved to 10–6; Fairfield left with the same overall record.

Molloy and St. Thomas Aquinas remained scoreless through regulation and two overtime periods before Molloy prevailed 1–0 in a shootout, the program’s first shootout victory in its second such appearance. Samantha Naples converted in the second shootout round, goalkeeper Kayla Monique Lipscomb denied two attempts and Caley Caleca converted Molloy’s fourth try to seal it. The Lions improved to 3–7 overall and 3–3 in the ECC; St. Thomas Aquinas fell to 0–12 and 0–6.

Next 48 hours: Mid-South golf preview

Lindsey Wilson’s men and No. 4 women are scheduled for the Mid-South Conference Fall Preview on Monday and Tuesday at Bowling Green Golf Course in Kentucky. The men enter as defending champions of the event. The women arrive after winning the Gibson Bay Invitational, where Reece Garey and Vu Hoang Anh Nguyen tied for second at 224.

The two-day event gives a ranked NAIA women’s team and a defending conference-preview champion a shared fall checkpoint. It is a tournament to follow for form and conference comparison, not a championship result by itself.

Coverage limits

This is a selective report built from a bounded set of official school publications, not a complete national scoreboard. Additional conferences, state rotations and junior-college results remain under review. No unverified final, injury, eligibility claim, clinching scenario or numerical projection has been added.
