Saturday's results, through Sunday at 7 a.m. Eastern
St. Thomas (Florida) beat Keiser 52-7, while Rowan's volleyball team won twice and extended its winning streak to 17 matches. Those developments anchor this selection of college results from Saturday, October 17, 2026, checked through Sunday, October 18, at 7 a.m. Eastern.
The report spans NCAA Divisions I, II and III and the NAIA. It is a source-verified selection, not a complete national scoreboard. The separate Sunday Top 25 editorial assesses every team in the October 11 AP football baseline; the results below broaden the day's coverage beyond that field.
NAIA football: St. Thomas separates itself in The Sun
St. Thomas won 52-7 at home in Miami Gardens, moving to 7-0 overall and 3-0 in Sun Conference play. Keiser fell to 4-2 and 2-1. The NAIA's pregame notebook ranked Keiser second and St. Thomas ninth; those are NAIA rankings, not positions in the AP's NCAA Division I poll.
Isaiah Lopez ran for 135 yards and three touchdowns on 17 carries, according to the official box score. St. Thomas led 21-7 at halftime and scored another 21 points in the third quarter. Keiser's recap reports a weather delay of two hours, 26 minutes; the game was completed Saturday, not left pending. The result gives St. Thomas the head-to-head win and the better conference record in this comparison, but is not being presented as an official title clinch.
Division III volleyball: Rowan's second win sets the milestone
Rowan beat Brooklyn in three sets, 25-13, 25-11, 25-9, then defeated Salisbury in four, 29-31, 25-21, 25-17, 25-17. The two home victories left the Profs 19-2. Rowan identifies the resulting 17-match winning streak as a program record; the school says the previous mark was 16.
Abby Chadwick supplied 18 kills against Salisbury. The second match required Rowan to recover from a first-set loss, making the final 3-1 result distinct from its earlier sweep of Brooklyn. Both matches count toward the milestone; treating the day as one match would obscure how the record was reached.
Division I volleyball: Penn State finishes its trip with a sweep
Penn State beat USC on the road in Los Angeles, 25-17, 25-23, 25-19. The Nittany Lions finished the match 13-5 overall and 5-3 in the Big Ten; USC was 8-10 and 2-6.
Penn State's recap credits Alexis Stucky with 31 assists and 14 digs. The middle set was the closest of the three, but USC never took a set. This was a completed Saturday match even though Penn State's release carries an October 18 publication date.
Women's soccer and field hockey: two shutouts with different settings
Keiser's women's soccer team won 4-0 at SCAD Savannah in Hardeeville, South Carolina. The NAIA Seahawks remained unbeaten at 11-0-2 and reached 5-0-0 in Sun Conference play. All four goals came after halftime, from the 47th through the 63rd minute. Luisa Fontes contributed a goal and an assist; Keiser finished with 13 shots to SCAD's nine.
In NCAA Division II field hockey, Shippensburg won 2-0 at West Chester. The visitors scored at 8:44 and 49:38 and led 9-1 in shots, according to the official box score. Shippensburg stood 9-2 overall and 3-1 in the PSAC after the game, while West Chester was 8-4 and 1-3. Those are the published postgame records, not a calculated tournament-qualification scenario.
FBS follow-up: Kansas State wins the rivalry game
Kansas State beat Kansas 35-24 in Manhattan, improving to 4-2 overall and 1-2 in the Big 12. Kansas was 2-4 and 0-3. Kansas led 17-7 in the first quarter and 24-18 in the third before the Wildcats finished ahead. The final is confirmed by both schools' recaps and NCAA's game record, resolving the earlier schedule-only follow-up. This is FBS coverage, separate from the NAIA result above and from the FCS playoff picture.
The next 48 hours—and the coverage limits
Wisconsin's volleyball schedule lists a Big Ten match at Iowa on Sunday, October 18, at 1 p.m. Central, or 2 p.m. Eastern. It falls inside the forward-looking window ending Tuesday, October 20, at 7 a.m. Eastern. Wisconsin enters with a published 12-5 overall record and 6-1 conference record. This is a scheduled contest to watch, not a result; readers should check the official schedule for changes.
This edition does not claim verified results from every conference or the junior-college associations. Some official standings pages were inaccessible, and separate source checks remain queued. No score has been inferred from a poll, social profile or incomplete feed. Basketball exhibitions and fall baseball or softball activity are not being treated as the start of those sports' regular championship seasons.
