The $9.75 million expansion would add production space in a former Joy Manufacturing building, with fabrication expected to start in early 2027.
Conair plans to add 126 jobs over three years through a $9.75 million manufacturing expansion in Franklin, Pennsylvania, Governor Josh Shapiro’s administration announced October 19. The project also calls for retaining 273 existing full-time positions.
The company plans to lease 157,760 square feet at 325 Buffalo Street for fabrication, machining and powder coating. Joy Manufacturing previously occupied the building and stopped operating there in 2017. Conair’s existing Allegheny Boulevard plant will continue assembling products.
The state says Conair’s parent, Piovan Group North America, received a funding proposal comprising an $805,000 Pennsylvania First grant and $40,000 for worker training through WEDNetPA. Fabrication at the added location is expected to begin in early 2027.
What it means
The expansion would return manufacturing work to an idle Franklin site. Its 126-job figure is a three-year target; the announcement provides no position-by-position hiring calendar establishing how many vacancies are available now.
